jQuery

For many years now, JQuery has taken the pain out of writing cross browser JS, by providing a robust and consistent API across all browsers and versions. I have used it throughout my professional career to build countless website front end components in that time I have become familiar with jQuery and its API. In recent years, however, I have also started to become conscious on when jQuery is not needed. Like many things in Software and web development, using jQuery is a trade off, between convenience and performance, with Es6 bringing more convenience to JS and performance been more important it is vital that developers keep when and more importantly when not to use jQuery in mind.
